Courtney Rodgers named "Miss Virginia Beach"
Meet Miss Virginia Beach Scholarship Pageant royalty for 2007


   Virginia Beach, VA - The 2007 Miss Virginia Beach Scholarship Pageant was held Sunday, February 25, at the Kempsville Recreation center. This year's program was hosted by Miss Virginia Beach 2006, Ashley Smith and Wes Pearce, from William & Mary College. It turned out to be one of the pageant's most competitive shows with a standing room only crowd.

   Chosen as this year's representative is Courtney Rodgers, 18, as Miss Virginia Beach. Courtney, a senior at Frank W. Cox High School, is the daughter of Greg and Kim Rodgers. She will represent Virginia Beach in Roanoke at the Miss Virginia scholarship program in June.

   Kaytlynne Marie West, 16,  is the new "Teen Miss Virginia Beach." Kaytlynne, a junior at Bayside Health Science Academy, is the daughter of James & Lynne Landry.

   Katherine Priester, 9, is the new "PreTeen Miss Virginia Beach.” A forth grader at Kempsville Elementary, she is the daughter of Scott and Sherri Priester. Katherine also won "Miss Photogenic."

   Last, but not least, "Little Miss Virginia Beach" honors were bestowed to Larissa Conza age seven. She is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John Conza and attends Centerville Elementary School. She will appear at various functions throughout the year with the other winners including the Pungo Strawberry Festival and the Virginia Beach Christmas parade.

   Completing the winners for "Little Miss" is first runner-up and “Talent” winner,  Kaitlyn Jesionowski, 6, daughter of Eric & Julie Jesionowski; Second runner-up is Jordan Frankos, 8, a second grader WT Cooke Elementary and daughter of John & Helen Frankos; Third runner-up and "Miss Photogenic" is Hannah Beckner, 8, a third grader at Strawbridge Elementary and daughter of David Beckner & Christina Voliva.

   Rounding out the "PreTeen" category is first runner-up and “Talent” winner Bethany Walker, 9, a third

grader at Cooke Elementary and daughter of Maximilian Walker; Second runner-up is Megan Love Swanner, 12, a seventh grader at Larkspur Middle School and daughter of Lynn & Scott Swanner; Third runner-up is Emily Bustria, 9, a fourth grader at Landstown Elementary and daughter of Tracy & Daniel Bustrio.

    "Miss Teen Virginia Beach winners include first runner-up and "Miss Photogenic," Samantha Hardee, age 15,  an eight grader at St. John the Apostle Middle School and daughter of Kellie Burich & Tom Hardee;  Second runner-up is Jennifer Werner, 13, a eleventh grader at Grade Franklin High School and daughter of John and Patty Werner; Third runner-up is Emily Bustria, 9, a fourth grader at Landstown Elementary and daughter of Tracy and Daniel Bustrio. Third runner-up is McKenzie Hall, 13, a seventh grader at Norfolk Christian Middle School and daughter of JoAnne Hall.

   First runner up for Miss Virginia Beach is Brooke Phelps, 18, a senior at First Colonial High School and the daughter of Michael Phelps & Marsha & Don Kriashauser; Second runner up is  Kathleen Lee, 17, a senior at Bayside High School and daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Lee; Third runner up and "Swimsuit" winner is Elle Bunn, 17, a senior at Kellam High School and daughter of  David & Wendy Bunn.

   Miss Virginia Beach will receive a $1,000 college scholarship and a chance to compete for additional scholarship monies in the Miss Virginia  and Miss America Scholarship Programs. The Miss Virginia Scholarship Pageant will be held in Roanoke in June. Miss Virginia will advance to compete in the Miss America Pageant in January 2008.
